Sheffield Historical Society Museum

Located on Washington Street, this museum houses an excellent reference and research library of history and is a great source of genealogy for western Bureau County, including family histories from Sheffield, Buda, Manlius, Wyanet, Neponset, and Mineral, as well as the history of the Hennepin Canal. Recently there was a huge donation of material from the former local newspaper going back to the early days of the town. Queen Margrethe II of Denmark visited the museum in 1976. Rooms in the museum include examples of military related articles, uniforms, clothes of yesteryear, school, doctor's and dentist's offices, and art. Donations appreciated.
