From larger corporations to smaller retailers, Bureau County, Illinois has a diverse and strong business climate. Businesses offering unique and varied goods and services serve not only local county residents but also larger nearby metropolitan areas such as the Quad Cities, Rockford, Peoria, and even Chicago. Amtrak service and Interstate 80 provide easy access as well as the nearby LaSalle-Peru airport. The Burlington Northern-Sante Fe rail line, with rail access, runs through parts of Bureau County.

But what is really special about Bureau County is the prevalence of the Midwestern work ethic. People here genuinely care about their work and strive to do their very best. You can always be assured you will be served graciously, with respect, and with a smile.

Organizations

National organizations have a place in Bureau County. Rotary International has clubs in Princeton and Walnut. Optimists, Jaycees, women's groups, youth groups, recreational groups such as Ducks Unlimited, Friends of the Canal, and Spring Valley Boat Club are just a few of the local clubs and groups Bureau County has to offer.
