Civil War Cannon

Located in Greenfield Cemetery, the cannon was dedicated as a monument to Civil War dead on Decoration Day, 1897. Part of the U.S. Steamer Canadaigua which patrolled the North Carolina coast. The 16,000 lb. cannon arrived by freight from the U.S. government at a cost of $120.
